why everything we do at my life retreats leads you inward

when you look at the activities we offer at my life retreats, they may seem very different from one another.

there might be a mayan workshop, ceremonial cacao, time in nature, movement, cultural experiences, time in silence to simply be.

the intention with every activity is the same: to bring you back to yourself.

we don’t create activities to keep you busy while you’re away.

in fact, the opposite is true.

many of us spend our everyday lives moving outward. we work, organize, achieve, respond, care for others, make decisions, scroll, plan and constantly take in information.

over time, it can become difficult to hear what is actually happening inside us.

what do I really want?

what am I feeling?

what have I been ignoring?

what matters to me now?

what am I ready to let go of?

and most importantly: what does my heart already know?

this is why our activities are intentionally chosen to create space for those questions to arise.

nature gets you out of your head

being in nature changes the pace.

walking through the jungle, sitting beside the ocean, watching a sunrise, gives your nervous system a chance to settle.

when there is less stimulation coming from the outside, you can begin to notice what is happening on the inside.

culture gives you another perspective

experiencing another culture can interrupt the assumption we carry about how life is suppose to be.

meeting local people, learning about traditions, sharing food, hearing stories or participating in something unfamiliar can remind us that there isn’t only one way to live.

experiencing life differently helps us see ourselves differently.

ceremony creates intention

ceremonial experiences aren’t about following a particular belief system.

they are about creating a moment where you consciously stop and pay attention.

cacao for example, becomes an opportunity to slow down, connect and listen rather than consume.

the activity itself isn’t the destination.

the awareness it creates is.

movement helps you reconnect with your body

we often live from the neck up.

we think our way through problems, make decisions with our minds and push through when our bodies ask us to stop.

movement offers another way in. it gives you an opportunity to notice sensation, tension, emotion and energy without needing to analyze everything.

your body can sometimes tell you something long before your mind catches up.

stillness lets you hear yourself

and the most important activity on the retreat is to pause.

no agenda.

just space.

everything leads back to the heart

when I say that our retreats are designed to take you into the heart, I don’t mean that every experience needs to be mystical.

I mean coming back to what is real for you.

your values. your desires. your truth. your intuition.

the parts that get missed by the demands of everyday life.

the activities are simply doorways because there is no right way to experience e retreat. the intention is to create enough space for you to have your own experience.

that is what the pause is about.

and that is why everything we do at my life retreats ultimately leads back to you.
