why mexico? ancient land, open heart, deeper living
there are places you visit and then there are places that feel like a part of you.
for me, mexico has always felt like home.
i don’t think its about the sunshine, the ocean, the food, or the beautiful landscapes. those things are easy to fall in love with. there is something deeper about mexico that is harder to explain.
it is the feeling of being pulled backed into life.
mexico reminds you that life doesn’t have to be complicated. sit down. eat. talk. share. laugh. stay longer. share your food. listen to music. dance. watch a sunset. let the day unfold.
mexico is incredibly grounding. the land carries ancientness that you can feel. indigenous traditions, ceremonies, connection to nature and the ancestors is woven into culture.
mexico doesn’t pretend that life is perfect.
there is beauty and hardship living side by side. there is poverty, inequality, noise, chaos and uncertainty and yet, there is so much love, joy and celebration. so much colour, family and affection.
that contrast has taught me something.
mexico gave me a change of heart.
mexico brings me into my senses. the warmth of the people, the markets. the music. the way people gather, talk and share.
it get me out of my head.
and that is what i love the most.
i’m not interested in moving faster, achieving more, optimizing myself.
mexico invites me to pause. to connect. to enjoy. to love. to remember that a meaningful life isn’t necessarily a bigger life. it’s a life you can actually feel and enjoy.
why mexico?
because somewhere between the ancient ruins, the people. the ocean, the mountains, the love…i remember something very simple:
i don’t want to rush my life. i want to be here for it.
