we are forgetting how to live

we have become spectators of our own lives.

we check what everyone else is doing, follow conversations happening around the world, absorb opinions, chase updates and spend hours engaging with things that have very little to do with the life unfolding right in front of us.

and somewhere in all of this, we’ve lost something.

the ability to simply experience life without needing to be entertained by it.

remember when an afternoon could be spent doing absolutely nothing? when boredom wasn’t something to escape? when being outside, having a conversation or watching the world go by was enough?

we’ve created a world where every spare moment needs to be filled. where our attention is constantly being pulled somewhere else. where even our downtime has become another opportunity to consume.

but what is the cost?

our attention is our life. where we place it determines what we actually experience.

we cannot keep giving our most precious resource to a digital world and expect to feel deeply connected to the physical one.

this is a time to reconsider what we are giving our lives to.

not everything deserves our attention. not every moment needs an activity. not every thought needs feeding.

perhaps the most meaningful thing we can do right now is reclaim our relationship with ordinary life.

go outside. cook something. sit with someone. watch the sunset. get your hands dirty. laugh. rest. experience something without feeling the need to capture it.

we don’t need to escape life to find peace.

we need to start participating in it again.

the pause is a reminder that you are here to live your life, not spend it watching everyone else’s.
