natural healing is rarely dramatic

I think one of the hardest part about healing is that it doesn’t usually feel like you’re healing.

we expect a time where everything changes. we want to wake up one morning and think, there it is, I’m better.

but that’s not how the body works.

healing is so quiet that you almost miss it.

it’s realizing your pain didn’t consume your whole day. it’s noticing you are no longer forcing. it’s having more energy, more space, more clarity.

it’s looking back and realizing you aren’t where you used to be.

the funny thing is, while we’re waiting for the big change, our bodies are doing thousands of tiny things behind the scenes we are not even aware of.

restoring. repairing. rebuilding. balancing.

the body is asking for patience, while our minds keep asking “are we there yet?”

maybe we’ve been measuring healing all wrong. maybe healing isn’t dramatic. maybe it’s dependable. like the sunrise. like a garden. like the seasons changing so slowly you don’t notice until one day the leaves have turned.

our bodies were never designed to rush. they were designed to restore.

so if you are in a season where it feels like nothing is happening, don’t dismiss the small shifts. the biggest miracle is simply that your body has never stopped trying. and maybe today, that’s enough to trust.
