i no longer need to believe, i know
there was a time when i thought i needed answers for everything.
i wanted certainty. i wanted to know what was coming next, why things happened the way they did, and what the right decision was. my mind was searching, analyzing, comparing and trying to stay one step ahead of life.
it was exhausting.
what i’ve come to realize is that the need to know often comes from the need to feel safe. the mind believes that if it can figure everything out, it can prevent pain, disappointment or uncertainty.
but life has shown me something different.
the greatest moments of my life arrived in ways i never could have predicted. the people i was meant to meet. the opportunities that appeared unexpectedly. the lessons i never would have chosen but deeply needed. none of them came from me knowing.
they came from being.
there is freedom in admitting, “i don’t know,”
when we no longer need to know we become available for discovery. curiosity replaces certainty. trust begins to take the place of control.
the pause has taught me this more than anything else.
when we pause, we stop demanding answers from the future. we simply need to be here for the next step.
ironically, wisdom doesn’t always come from knowing more. it comes from believing less.
less in every fearful story the mind creates.
less in the assumption that we have to control the outcome.
less in the belief that uncertainty is something to fear.
life has an intelligence far greater than our thinking.
the more i pause the less i feel the need to define everything.
there is peace in not knowing. there is humility in not knowing. and there is a confidence that emerges when we stop pretending like we have life figured out.
today i no longer need to believe, i know to trust that what i need to know will reveal itself in perfect time.
